![]() You will need a graphics card that can produce a framerate of 120 fps to enjoy the whole experience fully. We've also encountered games that are still playable under 120 fps but won't be as smooth during fast movements. For instance, we have tested that for a 120 Hz display paired with a lower-end GPU, and it wasn't the same experience. One downside to getting a higher refresh rate monitor is that it takes a higher-end graphics card to reach a faster framerate and take full advantage of a faster refresh rate. From our experience, we recommend getting a monitor with a refresh rate of at least 120 Hz to 165 Hz or above for a smoother and more responsive gaming experience. We have tried and analyzed various monitors with different refresh rates while gaming. ![]() While the difference between 60 Hz and higher refresh rates may only be noticeable to some, we've witnessed that other factors, such as response time, input lag, and screen resolution, can also affect a monitor's overall performance. However, we've encountered many users who now prefer higher refresh rates for a smoother and more responsive experience, particularly for gaming. In comparison, 60 Hz was the standard refresh rate for monitors. We've analyzed the refresh rates of most gaming monitors available today, and they offer refresh rates ranging from 75 Hz to 360 Hz. ![]() Our experience with monitors has shown us that a high refresh rate is crucial when playing fast-paced games such as first-person shooters and racing games. A higher refresh rate can reduce this effect, resulting in a more immersive and responsive experience. This poor performance of having a low refresh rate is because the monitor cannot keep up with the speed at which the picture changes. With some low refresh rate monitors, we've had situations where their low refresh rate resulted in choppy, stuttering motion, particularly during fast-paced action scenes in movies or games. A higher refresh rate means the screen is updated more frequently, resulting in a smoother, more fluid motion and less motion blur. Refresh rate refers to the number of times the display updates the picture being displayed per second. I really dont understand what is going on as I used to have a 1070 with an i7 and I thought I would have seen better performance per dollar with this upgrade. In our years of working with monitors, we've observed that a monitor's refresh rate is a critical factor in determining its overall performance. ( I know everyone and their brother is having problems with that game). Well if you know im having all the same issues listed as above. Fps is never stable and there is no difference between 1080p and 2k fps wise. Objects like bears running seem to be duplicated and have a trailing/ghosting effect. No matter the settings I have motion blur and everything in the distance is blurry. Ive tried using with game mode off and on. Power manangement is maxiumum performance. Samsung 1tb nvme ( forget model will check if anyone thinks its an issue ) Hey there so I have tried a bunch of different monitors and now I'm thinking this is a hardware issue.

But if you’ve reached that point, or are just curious, here are stages in the development of the pattern shown above…. You do need to be up to speed with making abstract tessellations, and also pretty expert with Photoshop or an equivalent graphics package. The secret is to use segments of the outline of the representational motif for part of the outline of the tessellating pattern cell. The pattern above, based on Leonardo’s famous Vitruvian Man, is an example. My efforts are pretty feeble.īut fortunately, you can at least include representational motifs within your tessellations with a little trickery. It’s all trial and error, mostly error for me, and really hard! Escher was brilliant at it. There are no procedures, or none that I know anyway. Discovering representational motifs that tessellate is much, much harder. They can be abstract patterns, but the most intriguing are the ones devised by tessellation maestro M.C.Escher in the middle of the last century, which show representational motifs, such as animals, as tessellating patterns.ĭesigning abstract patterns that tessellate successfully is just a matter of getting the hang of some rules. For an introduction, see our earlier animation. ![]() Tessellations are patterns whose repeat motifs fit together like jig-saw pieces, with no gaps and no repeats. For more analysis of the pattern and the fabrication of the doors, see below, but first, here’s the whole door. And the overall shapes that do jump out for me are the beautiful curves that run from top to bottom of the image, which also distract attention from the hexagonal geometry of the pattern. We’re distracted from grasping the overall geometry by all the assertive, enclosed shapes, with their heavy outlines. The artist has not emphasised the lines of the design, but rather the infills – stars and other little geometric tiles. But that’s not obvious at all when you just see the door. (I’ve shown other examples of a role for bamboozled perception in aesthetics in an earlier post, and in the Illusions and Aesthetics category to the right).Īs you can begin to see in the image, where I’ve combined the interlace pattern on the door with a schematic analysis of its reflection, the interlace we see in the door is a segment of a rosette pattern that repeats across a wider field. This is a beautiful example, a detail of interlace decoration on a 14th century (Western dates) Mamluk Period door in the Louvre from the Al-Maridani mosque in Cairo. I’m fascinated by the way that spectacular aesthetic effects often seem to involve bamboozling our everyday strategies for making visual sense of the world. Similarity can remove the selected color from your feed. The settings that you will be mostly tweaking in this filter will be Similarity, Smoothness, and Key Color Spill Reduction. This allows broadcasters to specify the color of their screens and tells the software which color to take out of the feed. The OBS filter settings here allow you to select the Key Color Type. This is because they are using a green screen and have edited their Chroma Key filter settings to get the effect. You may have seen streams where the broadcaster appears to have no background behind them other than their game or main feed. The Chroma Key filter is one that you will need to tweak if you are using a green screen. You can set the color of your webcam feed to something that more closely matches your visual overlay. This filter is also useful if you are looking to create a theme to use together with your OBS overlays. Using these settings, you can lighten or darken your video as well as adjust various color settings resulting in a more vivid image. This webcam filter for OBS allows you to fine-tune the video feed displayed from your webcam. Let’s explore some of these powerful OBS camera filters and see what they actually do within the broadcast software. ![]() ![]() In OBS Studio and SLOBS (Streamlabs OBS), the filters option is accessed by right-clicking on your camera source and then selecting filters. OBS Webcam filters are enhancements that improve and change how your webcam video looks to your audience. |
